Shafali Verma has been named as a replacement in the India squad in place of in-form opener Pratika Rawal for the knockout stage of the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 has approved Shafali as a replacement for Pratika the India squad.
Pratika sustained a right-leg injury during the rain-hit match against Bangladesh at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.
The Event Technical committee of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 consists of Wasim Khan (Chair, ICC General Manager – Cricket), Gaurav Saxena (ICC General Manager – Events & Corporate Communications), Abey Kuruvilla (BCCI Tournament Director), Mel Jones (Independent nominee).
India will take on Australia in the semifinal which will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
