Travis Head has sent a strong message to India ahead of the upcoming T20I series, saying Australia have no reason to alter their aggressive style of play. The opener said the team’s confidence is high after their ODI series win, and they’ll be aiming to extend that dominance into the T20Is following strong outings against New Zealand, South Africa, and the West Indies.
Australia’s explosive batting unit, featuring Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Matt Short and Josh Inglis, has empowered them to play with a fearless mindset, piling up and taking games away from their opponents.
“With the batting strength that we’ve got, we need to keep things moving. You can’t block out too many balls when players like Tim David, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell are coming after you. There’s massive power down the order,” Head told cricket.com.au.
Head believes that with the firepower they possess, Australia can post or chase any total when their batters click.
“We can score anything if we can get going. For Mitchell Marsh and me, the aim is to take advantage of the powerplay. It’s been a strength of ours for a couple of years, if you look. We don’t want to be careless, but it can look that way at times because we’re always trying to push the scoring rate,” he added.
