India vs Australia: India faces Australia in the semi-finals of the Women's ODI World Cup 2025. Both the teams are fully prepared for this match. Australia has forgotten that it has been riding the victory chariot for the last 15 matches in the Women's World Cup. In this situation, if Team India has to face Australia boldly in the semi-finals, then there is a need to take inspiration from the history of Indian cricket. It is not that for the first time an Australian team has faced India in so many matches. And, whenever such a situation has arisen, India has stopped Australia's victory chariot.

Indian men's team has done this twice

This has happened twice in the history of cricket, when Australia's victory chariot has been stopped by India. The only difference is that 11 girls from India have to do that feat for the third time. The two times before which Australia's victory chariot has been stopped are the achievements of the Indian men's team.

The Indian men's cricket team stopped Australia's victory streak for the first time in 2001, when it broke their 16-match winning streak. Seven years later, in 2008, India once again won the Perth Test and stopped Australia's 16-match winning streak. During this period, the Indian men's cricket team also became the first Asian team of Australia to win the Test in Perth.

After boys, now it's girls' turn

So, taking inspiration from the amazing feat that the Indian men's team has done twice on the cricket field, why can't 11 girls of India do the same on the cricket field for the third time? Australia's women's cricket team is unbeaten in 15 but not 16 matches like its men's counterpart. On top of that, they haven't lost in an ICC knockout since the 2017 World Cup.

But, it is also true that the Indian team has the power to stop Australia's victory chariot in women's cricket. The team which last defeated Australia in the knockout 8 years ago i.e. in the 2017 Women's ODI World Cup, is also India. India then defeated Australia by 36 runs thanks to Harmanpreet's inning of 171 runs.

It is clear that there are many evidences in history, which encourage the Indian team in the semi-finals of Women's ODI World Cup 2025 against Australia. The miracle that happened in the Women's ODI World Cup on 20 July 2017 can also happen on 29 October 2025. Apart from this, there is also an advantage of playing with Indian women in Navi Mumbai, where Australia will have its first semi-final match with India.
