Overview:
India will meet South Africa in the final on November 2.
India defeated Australia by 5 wickets in the semi-final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Chasing 339 runs, Jemimah Rodrigues scored an unbeaten 127 runs off 134 balls, with the help of 14 fours. Harmanpreet amassed 89 runs off 88 balls, with the help of 10 boundaries and 2 sixes, as India reached the target in 48.3 overs.
“I am feeling very proud. I don’t have words to express myself. We have crossed that line which we have been working towards for a long time. We wanted to achieve this, and all the players have worked hard. We trusted each other, and I am proud of this team,” Harmanpreet Kaur said.
“We have made mistakes, but we have been learning. We didn’t do well against England in the last few years, and that cost us the game. We discussed it and decided to be calculative. It is a 50-over format, but the last few overs matter a lot. She (Rodrigues) wants to do well for the team. Both of us enjoyed ourselves in the middle. She is always telling me about what is needed. One more game to go. Playing the World Cup at home is special, and we will give our best in the final. We are not alone, and all the fans are with us. They have been amazing, even when we lost, we got the support. The entire country is with us,” she added.
