Kristian Clarke of Northern Districts is set to make his ODI debut during the final ODI of the England tour of New Zealand 2025, after NZC named him as the replacement for injured Matt Henry.

Matt Henry has been ruled out after he failed to recover from a left calf strain he sustained during the second ODI in Hamilton. He will return to Christchurch on October 31.

Kristian Clarke enters the national side setup on the back of strong domestic form, having scored his maiden List A hundred and taken 3 for 57 in the Ford Trophy on Thursday to help Northern Districts beat Central Stags.

Kristian Clarke was part of New Zealand’s U19 World Cup squad in 2020, where he showcased his all-round talent. Since 2022, he has represented Northern Districts across all formats and was also part of the New Zealand A team on the Bangladesh tour earlier this year.

New Zealand secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ongoing ODI series and will be aiming for a clean sweep.

New Zealand secured a brilliant 4-wicket victory in the 1st ODI on the back of Zakary Foulkes’ Four-for and solid knocks from Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell.

In the second ODI, Blair Tickner excelled in bowling with a wicket haul which guided the side to restrict England to 175 runs. New Zealand chased the target in the 34th over and secured a five-wicket victory.

Matt Henry was part of the first ODIs while he was dropped from the second ODIs. The final ODI match will be played on November 01 at Wellington Regional Stadium, Wellington.

New Zealand Squad: Will Young, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(w), Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner(c), Nathan Smith, Zakary Foulkes, Blair Tickner, Jacob Duffy, Kane Williamson, Kristian Clarke, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman
