Jemimah Rodrigues has become the toast of the nation since scoring a magnificent century in the Women's World Cup 2025 semi-final between India and South Africa at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Thursday, October 30.

The right-handed batter showed tremendous grit and determination during her unbeaten 127-run knock off 134 balls, which helped India chase down a daunting 339-run target against defending champions Australia.

This turned out to be the highest total chased down in women's ODI history.

Now, the Women in Blue will want the epic victory to sink in and begin their preparations for Sunday's final against South Africa, which will also be hosted at the same venue.

After the riveting semi-final on Thursday, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar proposed the idea of singing a song with Jemimah if the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side beat the Proteas on Sunday. Gavaskar doesn't want a normal gig, as he mentioned that the Mumbai batter will have her guitar while he will perform the singing duties.

"If India win the World Cup, she and I—if she's okay with it-will sing a song together. She'll have her guitar, and I'll sing along. We actually did that once at one of the BCCI awards a couple of years back. There was a band playing, and we just decided to join in. She was on the guitar, and I sang with my whatever voice I have. But if India win, I would love to do it again-if she is happy to do that, happy to do that with an old man. I am all for it," Gavaskar said on Sports Today.

Gavaskar and Jemimah have performed together in the past.

During the BCCI Naman Awards 2024, they shared the stage for an impromptu musical duet.

Jemimah strummed her guitar while Gavaskar floored the guests in attendance with his impressive singing.

A clip of the heartwarming gig took social media by storm as fans shared their love for the enchanting performance.
