The ICC Women’s ODI World Cup is set to have a new champion, with India and South Africa facing off in the 2025 edition final at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
Only three nations have triumphed in the ODI World Cup so far — Australia (seven titles), England (three titles) and New Zealand (one title).
India beat defending champion Australia by five wickets to enter its third final, while South Africa trumped England by 125 runs to qualify for its maiden summit clash.
India’s best finish at the Women’s ODI World Cup has been as runner-up, in 2005 and 2017, losing to Australia and England, respectively.
