India won its maiden Women’s ODI World Cup after beating South Africa by 52 runs in the final of the 2025 edition on Sunday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Here are the major records created by India throughout the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025:

Records broken by India during the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025

434 – Smriti Mandhana eclipsed Mithali Raj’s record for the most runs scored in a single edition during the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 final against South Africa. Mithali had amassed 409 runs in the 2017 edition.

339 – India completed the highest successful chase in women’s ODIs enroute its semifinal win against Australia. This was the first time a 300-plus total has been chased down in an ODI World Cup knockout match, men’s or women’s.

15 – India ended Australia’s 15-match unbeaten streak in ODI World Cups — its first defeat since the 2017 semifinal against the same opponent.

167 – Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur put together the highest partnership for any wicket against Australia in a World Cup. It was also the third-highest partnership in an ODI World Cup knockout.

2nd – Smriti Mandhana became the second Indian to score 1000 runs against Australia in WODIs, and the fastest – 21 innings.

176 – Openers Smriti and Pratika Rawal recorded the best-ever partnership for any wicket for India in the history of the Women’s ODI World Cup during their match against New Zealand. They broke the record of 184 between Smriti and Harmanpreet in 2022 against West Indies in Hamilton.

5000 runs – Smriti, during the league stage match against Australia, became the second Indian to reach 5000 runs in ODIs, becoming the youngest (29-year-old) and quickest (112 innings and 5569 balls) to do so.

1000+ – Smriti also crossed 1000 runs in a calendar year, becoming the first player to do so in ODIs.

155 – In the league stage, Smriti and Pratika notched up the highest opening partnership by any team against Australia in ODIs after adding 155 runs for the first wicket.

94 – Richa Ghosh’s knock against South Africa in the league stage is the highest score while batting at No. 8 or lower in WODIs. She also notched up the highest score by an Indian wicketkeeper in Women’s ODI World Cups.

88 – Richa and Sneh Rana’s eighth-wicket stand against the Proteas in the league stage is India’s highest for the 8th wicket or below in WODIs. It is also the joint-third highest for the 8th wicket or below in WODIs.

149 – India, against South Africa in the league stage, scored the most runs after the fall of the 6th wicket in a World Cup innings.
