India vs Australia: Australia's star opener Travis Head has been ruled out of the T20 series against India. The T20 series between India and Australia is to end on 8 November. But, Travis Head's journey has ended before that. The reason for Travis Head's sudden withdrawal from the T20 series is Australia's ongoing preparations for the Ashes. Head is the third Australian player to be ruled out of the T20 series in the name of Ashes.
Travis Head was selected in the Australian team for all five matches of the T20 series. But, now he will not be seen playing in the last two T20s. Head was part of the Australian team in the first three T20s of the series. The first T20 was canceled due to rain in Canberra. Whereas Australia won the second T20 played in Melbourne by 4 wickets, in which Head scored 28 runs in 15 balls. In the third T20, India defeated Australia by 5 wickets, in which only 6 runs came from Head's bat.
Travis Head has been kept out of the last two matches of the T20 series in view of the preparations for the Ashes. Cricket Australia wants all the players who played in the first Test for Australia before the Ashes to be seen playing in the next round of Sheffield Shield. Before Head, Hazlewood and Sean Abbott were also out of the T20 series due to the Ashes.
