New Zealand and India have clinched the trophy once.
India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final to win their first-ever ICC Women’s ODI World Cup trophy. The Women in Blue scored 298/7 in the allotted 50 overs and dismissed the Proteas for 246 runs.
Shafali Verma, the opening batter, was named the Player of the Match for scoring 87 runs and taking two wickets. Deepti Sharma, who scored a fifty and dismissed 5 batters, was adjudged the Player of the Series for accumulating 20 wickets and over 200 runs in the tournament.
