India women’s cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana was seen leaving the ground with her boyfriend Palash Muchhal following the team’s win in the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup in Navi Mumbai. The left-handed batter scored over 400 runs in the campaign.

The couple confirmed their relationship in 2019, and the two are getting married in November. Muchhal, who is a music composer and filmmaker, has made over 40 music videos for T-Series, Zee Music and Pal Music. The 30-year-old also directed a web series, Rickshaw, and a movie, Ardh.

Mandhana accumulated 434 runs in nine innings at an average of 54.25. Smriti spoke to the broadcaster after the World Cup final against South Africa.

“I don’t know how to react. It is an unreal moment for me. We have faced several heatbreaks in the past, but managed to win the trophy this time. We have a big responsibility towards women’s cricket in India. I can’t explain the hard work of the last 45 days,” she said.

India defeated South Africa by 52 runs, with Shafali Verma getting the Player of the Match Trophy.
