Delhi: Pakistan's newly appointed coach Gary Kirsten said that it is a great honor for him to be given the responsibility of coaching the Pakistan national team in white-ball cricket. Kirsten said that his aim is to unite Pakistan's ODI and T20I teams. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has recently appointed Kirsten as its head coach.

Gary Kirsten, 56, said, “It is a huge honor to be given the responsibility of coaching the Pakistan men's national team in white-ball cricket and to rejoin international cricket after some time away. I am eagerly looking forward to this opportunity and goal.”

He further said, “My aim is to unify the Pakistan white-ball team, utilize their talents for a common purpose and achieve success. I think we will be together on the field.”

Kirsten has an impressive record as a coach, which includes leading India to World Cup victory in 2011 and helping South Africa reach the top of the ICC Test rankings. In such a situation, the former South African opener has brought a wealth of experience for the Pakistan cricket team. He will encourage Pakistani players to continuously improve.

PCB appointed Kirsten and Gillespie as coaches of its teams

Kirsten's guidance will be important for the team to achieve important victories in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. It is known that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday appointed Gary Kirsten as the head coach of Pakistan's white ball team and former Australian fast bowler Jason Gillespie as the head coach of the red ball team. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi gave this information along with Azhar Mahmood in Lahore.

Mohsin said that Jason Gillespie is being brought in as the coach of Pakistan's Test team, while South Africa's Gary Kirsten will be the coach of the white-ball national team.
