The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Month for October 2025, which include three spinners – Noman Ali (Pakistan), Senuran Muthusamy (South Africa) and Rashid Khan (Afghanistan).
Noman and Muthusamy of South Africa have been nominated after guiding their respective sides towards a win in the two-match test series of South Africa’s tour of Pakistan 2025, which resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, Rashid Khan made it after a brilliant performance in white-ball cricket.
The Pakistan spinner Noman Ali picked a 10-wicket haul in the first test against South Africa played at Lahore. He returned with a figure of 6/112 in the first innings and had a return of 4/79 in the second innings, jumping to a career best second position in the ICC Men’s Test bowling rankings.
He also took two wickets each in both innings of the second test in Rawalpindi; however, it was not enough as South Africa secured a win in the second test.
Senuran Muthusamy was nominated for the Men’s Player of the Month nominees for October 2025 after picking 11 wickets in Lahore in a losing cause, but then top-scored in South Africa’s first innings with an unbeaten 89 runs in the second innings of the Rawalpindi Test as his team won by eight wickets, and he was named player of the series.
The Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan had an impressive outing, picking 11 wickets at an average of 06.09 and an economy of 2.73 as Afghanistan secured a 3-0 clean sweep in an ODI series against Bangladesh and taking nine wickets at an average of 9.11 and an economy of 4.82 in five T20Is during the month.
The Nominees from either category are shortlisted based on their performance by the last day of the month. The Candidates are shortlisted and voted on by the ICC Voting Academy and fans around the World.
The ICC Voting Academy comprises renowned journalists, former players, and ICC Hall of Fame members. They submit their votes by email, which accounts for 90% of the voting members.
Fans registered with the ICC can also vote via the ICC website at icc-cricket.com/awards, which accounts for the remaining 10 per cent. Winners will be announced every second Monday of the month.
