Sanju Samson for Ravindra Jadeja in CSK: The deadline for retaining players for IPL 2026 is 15th November. But, before that, the trade window is also open, using which the franchises can exchange some players. There are reports that the trade going to happen between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings is going to create history this time. The reason behind this is the players of both these teams who are going to be traded. According to the report of ESPNcricinfo, Rajasthan Royals can trade Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to CSK in exchange for Sanju Samson.

Giving Jadeja for Samson, right or wrong?

Of course, this biggest ever trade deal between two IPL franchises has not been officially approved. But, smoke does not arise without fire. In such a situation, if this trade deal is approved, will it be right from CSK's point of view? Will sacrificing Ravindra Jadeja for Sanju Samson prove to be a big mistake for Chennai Super Kings?

Samson's record bad on CSK's home ground

With the arrival of Sanju Samson, Chennai's batting will undoubtedly be seen strengthening. He will also get the option of captaincy, which can replace Dhoni in future. But, along with these positive points, we should not forget that which is the home ground of CSK in IPL and what is the record of Sanju Samson in T20 there? Sanju Samson has played 11 T20 innings so far at Chepauk Stadium, Chennai, in which he has scored only 134 runs at an average of 12.18 and strike rate of 100.75. In this his best score was 31 runs. Meaning, neither is the strike rate correct nor is there anything remotely related to a half-century.

Chennai Super Kings will have to play at least 7 out of 14 matches of the group stage at Chepauk. So, with this performance of Samson, will she be seen moving ahead in the league?

Ravindra Jadeja is CSK's biggest match winner

On the other hand, if we talk about Ravindra Jadeja, he has been the biggest match winner of CSK. Ravindra Jadeja, who spent 13 years with Chennai Super Kings, has won the Player of the Match award the maximum number of 17 times in the yellow jersey.

Apart from this, if we look at Jadeja's performance in Chepauk, which is the home ground of CSK, he has scored runs with the bat at a better average than Sanju Samson. Apart from this, he has also taken a lot of wickets with the ball in the yellow jersey. Ravindra Jadeja has taken 37 wickets in 55 T20 matches on the pitch of Chepauk, which is considered a paradise for spinners. Out of these, he has played 54 matches for CSK, in which 35 wickets are recorded in his name. With the bat, he has scored 518 runs in 55 T20 matches at an average of 16.70.

This deal is not fair!

Based on the statistics, the arrival of Sanju Samson and departure of Ravindra Jadeja does not seem to be a profitable deal for CSK. Of course, Rajasthan Royals is Ravindra Jadeja's first IPL franchise. But, during IPL 2022, he himself had given such a clear statement that as long as he plays cricket, he will remain associated with CSK. In such a situation, if he goes to Rajasthan Royals under the compulsion of a trade deal, then it is difficult to say how much of his best will be seen in IPL 2026.
