Chennai Super Kings are likely to sign Sanju Samson, but they will have to give Ravindra Jadeja to Rajasthan Royals as the retention deadline is coming closer ahead of IPL 2026.
According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, CSK will be giving two players to RR. Apart from Jadeja, Sam Curran will also join the 2008 champions. Both franchises are in touch with the three players involved. They have also informed the IPL governing council about the move.
According to the rules, the franchise can initiate the final process after getting the written consent from players. Samson has been a part of the Royals for 11 years, while Jadeja has played for CK since 2012, except for 2016 and 2017, when the Men in Yellow were suspended.
Jadeja also made his IPL debut with the Rajasthan Royals. Samson doesn’t want to play for Rajasthan and has informed the official. Meanwhile, Jadeja was retained by CSK for INR 18 crore ahead of the mega auction. He has played 254 IPL matches so far. Curran, who played for CSK in 2020 and 2021, returned to the team for INR 2.40 crore in 2025.
