Laura Wolvaardt scored a century for South Africa against India in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 final at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
The South African skipper registered her 11th ODI hundred, and her second against India, while chasing India’s total of 298 for seven.
Wolvaardt also became only the second player in history to score back-to-back hundreds in the knockout rounds of an ODI World Cup, after Alyssa Healy.
She had earlier struck 169 in the semifinal against England, helping her side post a mammoth 319 for seven against the four-time champion.
The opener shared fifty-run partnerships with Tazmin Brits, Sune Luus, and Annerie Dercksen to keep South Africa in the hunt for its first-ever World Cup title.
She was eventually dismissed for 101 off 98 balls, with the team still needing 79 runs from 53 deliveries.
