Before the IPL retention, the issue of trade of Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja continues. After several days of discussions, a consensus appeared to be reached between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings regarding the exchange of these two star players. Both the franchises had started the official process regarding this trade but now suddenly this deal has come to a halt. The reason for this hindrance is the third player whom Rajasthan had included in this deal and now he has become a problem for them.

After several days of discussions between Rajasthan and Chennai, the paperwork for this deal had started. It was believed that both the franchises had started the process of turning this deal into reality on Monday, November 10, but now suddenly it had to be stopped for the time being. A report in Cricbuzz has revealed that this has happened due to the inclusion of Sam Curran in the deal because there is no vacant foreign quota in Rajasthan's squad for an England player.
