Former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has lauded Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the toughest bowler in the world. He added that Bumrah should never play in the SA20 League. The speedster has been winning matches for India across formats in international cricket.

Speaking at the SA20 India Day event in Mumbai, Joburg Super Kings’ captain Faf said, “Bumrah is the toughest bowler in the world. Hope we don’t see him playing in SA20. The right-handed batter has faced Bumrah in international matches and the IPL. He mentioned that pacer’s action and accuracy make him a nightmare for the batters.

Since returning from injury in April, he has continued to dominate the rivals with the ball. He recently played a T20I series against Australia and picked three wickets in India’s 2-1 win.

In 79 T20Is, he has taken 99 wickets at an average of 18.11 and an economy rate of 6.36. Bumrah is renowned for breaking partnerships and is among the top bowlers in the ICC rankings.

In 50 Tests, he has amassed 226 wickets at an average of 19.83 and an economy of 2.78. The speedster will be India’s main bowler in the two-match Test series against Australia, starting on November 14 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
