This step is being considered as a fresh turn for his career, because the opportunities for him were becoming limited while living in Mumbai. Mumbai Indians bid goodbye to Arjun in an emotional message. MI wrote, “Arjun, thank you for being an important part of the Mumbai Indians family. We wish you all the best in your new journey with Lucknow Super Giants. We are proud to have been a part of your growth path.”
However, many fans on social media believed that Arjun got opportunities in Mumbai because of his Tendulkar name. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar played for Mumbai Indians till 2013 and after that remained associated with the team as a club icon. This was the reason why questions were often raised on Arjun’s presence in the team. After the announcement of the trade, Arjun also had to face trolling on social media.
Let us see how fans are having fun with this trade of Arjun and trolling him.
Let us tell you that Arjun’s IPL journey has been full of ups and downs. Mumbai Indians bought him for Rs 20 lakh for the first time in the 2021 mini auction, but he did not get a chance to play any matches. MI once again signed him for Rs 30 lakh in the 2022 mega auction. He finally made his IPL debut in 2023 and took three wickets in four matches but in the next season i.e. 2024, he got only one match, which proved to be his last match for Mumbai.
Arjun remained unsold in the initial rounds of the IPL 2025 mega auction, but MI later bought him back for his base price of Rs 30 lakh. Despite this, he remained sitting on the team’s bench throughout the season. Now after joining LSG, it will be interesting to see whether he gets consistent matches and opportunities or not.
