Defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has released England allrounder Liam Livingstone ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.

Livingstone, signed for Rs. 8.75 crore at the 2025 auction, had an underwhelming season with the bat, scoring 112 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 133.33, including a solitary half-century. With the ball, he delivered nine overs across the season, picking up two wickets at an economy rate of 8.44.

Since the IPL, Livingstone has enjoyed a stronger run in white-ball competitions. He captained Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred, finishing as its leading run-scorer with 241 runs at a strike rate of 155.48, while also claiming seven wickets at an economy of 7.36. In the T20 Blast, he scored 260 runs at a strike rate of 176.87 and picked up six wickets during Lancashire’s run to the semifinals.

Despite the allround upturn in form across England’s domestic circuit, RCB has opted to move on as it shapes its squad for the 2026 season.
