Sunday morning brought a new problem for the common people in Delhi-NCR. Even though the prices of petrol and diesel have remained stable for a long time, the prices of CNG have been increased again. As the clock struck 6 in the morning, this increased fuel rate increased the travel budget for car owners, auto drivers and commuters.

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) suddenly announced change in prices late night, which became effective immediately from today. This increase in prices is on an average Rs 1 per kg, but its direct impact will be on the pockets of lakhs of people traveling daily, especially in those cities where CNG was already providing less relief than petrol.

Biggest impact in Noida-Greater Noida

The new price of CNG in Noida and Greater Noida has been increased from Rs 84.70/kg to Rs 85.70/kg. Here lakhs of people use CNG autos along with metro every day, hence its direct impact will be seen on everything from auto rental to cab service.

Prices increased in Ghaziabad also, relief to Hapur

IGL has also increased the prices in Ghaziabad from Rs 84.70 to Rs 85.70/kg. However, Hapur has been kept out of this increase. Local auto associations say that in case of no increase in fares, there will be an additional burden on the pockets of Rs 100-150 per day.

Most expensive CNG in Kanpur

The new prices in Kanpur gas area have increased from Rs 87.92/kg to Rs 88.92/kg. Here, both private car owners and public transport are worried due to the already expensive CNG. The increased rates may also affect local transport fares in the coming days.

Demand to increase fare intensifies

Immediately after the price increase, many auto unions in NCR have started demanding resetting of fares. He says that small price hikes being done at regular intervals are affecting daily earnings. Many drivers have demanded relief from IGL, calling it “unjust”.

How will the general public be affected?

With CNG becoming expensive, not only will driving a private vehicle become expensive, but school cabs, e-commerce delivery, auto rides and cab services are also likely to become expensive. The cost of such services directly depends on CNG, and companies may release a new price structure in the coming weeks.

Prices may increase further?

According to experts, further changes may be seen in CNG prices in the coming months due to fluctuations in global gas prices and slight increase in import costs. Companies like IGL say that prices completely depend on market conditions, so there is little hope of stability at present.
