Team India went down to yet another defeat on home soil in the Test series against World Test Champions South Africa at the Baraspara Stadium in Guwahati on Monday as the hosts conceded a 408-run defeat.

India were bundled out cheaply for 140 runs in the second innings of the second Test between the sides while chasing a mammoth 549, as the Men In Blue suffered yet another whitewash at home.

Sai Sudharsan’s 12-run inning off 139 deliveries in the defeat at Guwahati proved to be the second slowest knock by an India, only behind the likes of Yashpal Sharma’s 137-ball-13-run knock against Australia all the way back in the year 1981.

Team India succumbed to their second series whitewash on home soil in just over a year against South Africa as the travelling Proteas posted a 2-0 series win with their triumphs over the home side at Eden Gardens and Guwahati.
SA put up a first innings total of 489 runs, thanks to Senur Muthusamy's 109 and Marco Jansen’s 93-run knocks, as Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball as the spinner clinching a four-fer. However, India could only manage a poor 201 runs in reply as Jansen registered Asia's six-wicket haulth Yashasvi Jaiswal, India’s only batter to make a half-century.

South Africa added 260 runs to their lead in the second innings as Tristan Stubbs’ 94 led the visitors’ charge before they declared with half their side yet to bat.

The Proteas’ decision proved to be the perfect one as Temba Bavuma and Co. bundled out Indian for a paltry 140 runs, with Ravindra Jadeja’s 54-run knock the lone shining light, ight as Harmer Simon Harmer picked up a six-fer.
