UP Warriorz Women entered the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction in a notably risky manner, choosing to retain only one player ahead of the event. They kept Shweta Sehrawat for INR 50 lakh, while releasing senior stars Deepti Sharma, Alyssa Healy, and Sophie Ecclestone just before the auction.

The franchise has never finished in the top two in any WPL season, with their best performance coming in the inaugural edition, where they ended third on the table. Heading into the 2026 mega-auction, UP Warriorz had a strong purse of INR 14.5 crore and held four Right-to-Match (RTM) cards.

UP Warriorz made excellent use of their RTM cards by bringing back key players such as Deepti Sharma, Sophie Ecclestone, Kranti Gaud, and Kiran Navgire, ensuring that their core remained intact. Adding to this foundation, the Warriorz made some smart moves at the auction by securing Harleen Deol, Deandra Dottin, Phoebe Litchfield, and Meg Lanning.
