India will play Sri Lanka in a five-match T20I series from December 21-30 in Visakhapatnam and Thiruvananthapuram, the BCCI announced on Friday.
This will be the first series for the Women in Blue after their World Cup-winning campaign earlier in November.
The Indian women’s cricket team was supposed to play a home series against Bangladesh during the same time frame, but it was later postponed due to political tensions between the two countries.
The Lankans will be playing a T20I bilateral series in India for the first time since 2016, which the host had clean-swept 3-0.
The series against Sri Lanka will be followed by the fourth season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), after which India will tour Australia for a multi-format series in February-March.
