Virat Kohli is one of the greatest players of all-time. He was sensational in one-day internationals but took time to settle down in Test cricket. The right-handed batter couldn’t get going in T20 format in the initial phase of his career but he became the best best batter in this format affet working hard on his shortcomings.
Former India player Irfan Pathan thinks Yashasvi Jaiswal is like Virat and will become a three-format player after gaining experience like the legendary cricketer.
“Yashasvi Jaiswal was trying to hit the ball hard early in the 17th season and was paying heavy price. However, he made adjustments after failing in several matches. The moment he worked on his issues, the runs start flowing from his bat for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024.
“He will become a three-format player like Virat Kohli. Virat became great because he made full use of his experience and never ran away from addressing the shortcomings. Jaiswal is following the same formula. He started with a bang in Test cricket.
“He is yet to make his ODI debut. Although he has been regular in T20Is but have a lot of work to do to become consistent. I am sure he will become a big player across formats,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
