Lucknow: The match was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. In this match, the third umpire gave a decision which is being criticized a lot. If we talk about Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, questions have been raised many times regarding umpiring. The decision of no ball against legendary batsman Virat Kohli was the most controversial but during the match against Rajasthan, the third umpire gave another controversial decision.
Actually, the 15th over of Hyderabad's innings was going on and during this, fast bowler Avesh Khan came to bowl from Rajasthan's side. On the third ball of the over, opening batsman Travis Head, batting for Hyderabad, wanted to step forward and play the ball. However, the ball did not hit Head's bat and when he went out of the crease, Sanju Samson, who was behind the wicket, hit the ball directly on the stump and the on-field umpire referred this decision to the third umpire.
