Preity Zintaco-owner of Punjab Kings (PBKS)is renowned for backing of her team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, her passion took centre stage for a distinct reason during their recent face-off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.

Zinta’s visible reaction to Harshal Patel dismissing MS Dhoni for a golden duck was caught on camera. This moment made social media frenzy, as numerous fans reacted to her emotional display.

Dhoni came to bat at No. 9 for the first time in his IPL career. During the 19th over of CSK’s innings, he encountered a deceptive, slower delivery from Patel. The ball’s unexpected dip bewildered Dhoni, breaching his defense and demolishing the off-stump.

The dismissal of Dhoni left the spectators in Dharamsala astounded. However, PBKS co-owner Preity could not contain her emotions and was observed jubilantly celebrating in the stands. Sporting a radiant smile, she applauded Harshal for his remarkable wicket.

Punjab Kings faces seventh loss in IPL 2024

After being put in to bat first, CSK posted a competitive total on the board. Ravindra Jadeja‘s aggressive innings of 43 off 26 balls, featuring 3 boundaries and 2 sixes at a striking rate of 165, was instrumental in setting the target for PBKS. Despite the efforts of Rahul Chahar and Harshaal Patel, who both took 3 wickets, CSK managed to reach  167/9.

In reply, PBKS suffered an early setback, losing 2 wickets with only 9 runs on the board. Although Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh attempted to revive PBKS with a 53-run partnership, it wasn’t sufficient to take them to the finish line.

Jadeja shone with the ball as well, conceding only 20 runs and claiming 3 crucial wickets in his four overs, restricting PBKS to 139/9. CSK emerged victorious by 28 runs, with Jadeja rightfully earning the Player of the Match award for his outstanding all-round performance.
