He believes that Hardik can prove to be one of the most decisive players for Team India in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. De Villiers said that there are many players in the Indian team who have the ability to contribute in both batting and bowling departments. According to him, these players can change the balance of the team at any time and give strength to the team in difficult situations.

De Villiers also admitted that some big names are not included in the current squad, which is unfortunate. He said that Abhishek Sharma has got a chance as opening batsman and Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper, whereas players like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jitesh Sharma could not be a part of the team. According to him, all these are such players who have the ability to change the course of the match in any big tournament.

However, AB clearly said that Hardik Pandya is the most important player in this team. He told that Hardik has the ability to win matches with both bat and ball. He can bowl any over and can make an impact at any position in the batting order.
