Big claim of Bangladeshi government before T20 World Cup 2026 (Photo-PTI)
No decision has been taken yet on whether Bangladesh team will come to India for T20 World 2026 or not, but the claim made by the Sports Minister of Bangladesh is really shocking. Bangladesh Sports Minister Asif Nazrul while talking to the media claimed that the ICC security team has put forward its views before the BCB. What the Sports Minister of Bangladesh has said is really shocking. Bangladeshi Sports Minister has claimed that ICC told Bangladesh Cricket Board that security issue will be big for Bangladeshi players when Mustafizur Rahman comes to Bangladesh. Meaning, if the Bangladeshi minister is to be believed, the Bangladeshi team will be in danger if Mustafizur Rahman comes to India.
The Sports Minister of Bangladesh also claimed that there would be danger if Bangladesh fans went to the stadium wearing the team's jersey. Not only this, even when elections are near, security arrangements can become a big issue. The Sports Minister further said that to avoid these security concerns, ICC has offered BCB to play the matches in Chennai or Thiruvananthapuram. Bangladesh's sports advisor has called it nonsense.
Bangladesh's sports minister Asif Nurul's claims of a security letter from ICC were subsequently clarified by Deputy Press Secretary Azad Majumdar, who said the threat assessments were in fact part of an inter-departmental note 👀 pic.twitter.com/tTXq6W6Ez1

However, the claim of Bangladesh Sports Minister is being said to be wrong. According to media reports, ICC has denied all these things. ICC may soon issue an official statement on this matter. However, there have been reports that BCCI may shift Bangladesh matches from Kolkata-Mumbai to Visakhapatnam and Chennai. Now it remains to be seen what ICC reveals on this issue.
