Virat Kohli has been under loads of scrutiny in the past few weeks due to his strike rate. The batter was playing “slow” knocks and faced criticism from everywhere. Kohli then proved his mettle by hitting 70* against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Virat Kohli’s sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, was overjoyed with the innings. She took to Instagram to congratulate her brother with a story. She also took a cryptic dig at Kohli’s critics, claiming they create “imbalances“.

Kohli scored an unbeaten 70* in 44 balls, with a strike rate of 159.09. After the match, he took a dig at his critics who “sit in the box and talk about the game”. This innings brings his season’s runs tally to 500 runs, with an average of 71.42. His overall strike rate is 147.49 as well.

Virat Kohli admits he was “pissed off” during his innings

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was given a target of 201 by GT, which they chased down in just 16 overs. The chase was possible thanks to Kohli’s 70* and Will Jacks’ 100*, who took just 40 deliveries. Reaching his fifty in 31 balls, he took the next nine balls to complete his century.

This saw him hitting Rashid Khan for four sixes and a boundary in the final over of the match. Kohli was on the first ball but managed only a single, which he admitted pissed him off in the dressing room.

RCB are still bottom of the table, with six points. They are tied on points with Mumbai Indians and GT, but have played a match more than them.
