Namibia Cricket Team: Namibia team has to play its next match against India in T20 World Cup 2026. This match will be played on 12th February at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This match is very big for Namibia because it is getting a chance to face the world number 1 team India. Obviously India has the upper hand in this match but Namibian players have a chance to show their talent to the whole world. Because if their players do wonders against India then obviously doors can open for them in IPL.
Well, before this match, let us tell you a surprising truth about the Namibian team. Namibia is an African country, where more than 90 percent of the population is black. But despite this, only two players in the Namibian team are black.Only 2 black players in Namibia's team
The captain of Namibia's T20 World Cup 2026 squad is Gerhard Erasmus. This team is mostly filled with white players of South African origin. There are only two players who are black players from Namibia. The first name among these is that of Ben Shikongo, while the second player is Max Henningo.

The first reason for so few blacks in the Namibian team is historical. Till 1990, this country was under the control of South Africa. Cricket was considered a white sport. Cricket coaching was available in the big schools where white people's children studied. Cricket has very little reach in black majority areas.
Most cricket is played in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia and mostly white people live there. In other cities or rural areas of Namibia, there are more black people living who like soccer very much. Quota system has also been running in Namibia since 2010 but despite this the change there is slow because cricket is still a very small game in Namibia.
