Lucknow: Former great Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram has given his sharp reaction about the young Indian player. He says that the player needs to focus on cricket and not on parties. Let us tell you that his comment brought about India's young opener Prithvi Shaw, who had emerged as a star in the early stages of his career. However, some such incidents happened with him inside and outside the field, due to which he is continuously losing his influence in cricket. Prithvi is such a player who was compared with former great Indian players Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.

Shaw captained India in the Under-19 World Cup and also led it to victory in the final. Apart from this, he made his debut for Team India at the age of 18 and scored a century in his very first test match. Looking at the young batsman, it seemed that he would make a name for himself in cricket but first he has been dropped from the playing eleven of the Indian team and now in the IPL as well. The main reason for this has been his not being able to perform well with the bat. Akram gave his response during a conversation with Sportskeeda on this issue.

He said, “I have not seen Prithvi Shaw very closely this year but he has to go back to the basics. Shaw will have to play first class cricket and score big. They should focus on cricket and not parties. There is still a lot of cricket left in him and he just needs to go back and play first-class cricket. Go out there and score a lot of centuries. This is the only way to make a comeback and the best thing for him is that Shaw still has a lot of time.”

The former great player further said that “Prithvi needs to focus on his game regularly and also needs to take care of himself outside the field. After retirement, no one will care if you party as much as you want, but right now you should just concentrate on cricket.”

Prithvi Shaw is struggling with poor form in IPL 2024

If we look at the performance of the 24-year-old in IPL 2024, his performance has been mixed. He has played good innings for the team on some occasions but has failed to give a good start many times. Playing for Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2024, the right-handed batsman has scored 198 runs in 8 matches at an average of 24.75 and strike rate of 163.64. During this period, only one half-century has come from his bat, which does not do justice to his talent at all.
