Lucknow: Gujarat Titans (GT) won by 35 runs in the match played against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This is Gujarat's fifth win this season and with this they have also kept their playoff hopes alive. In this match, Chennai had decided to bowl first after winning the toss and after this their decision was proved wrong by the GT openers. Captain Shubhman Gill and Sai Sudarshan both scored centuries in this match and played an important role in their team's victory. In this match, Gill played a century for Gujarat and scored 104 runs in 55 balls with the help of 9 fours and 6 sixes. This is his first IPL century as captain. So Sudarshan also played an excellent inning and facing 51 balls, scored 103 runs with the help of 5 fours and 7 sixes. There was a partnership of 210 runs for the first wicket between the two openers in this match. Batting first, the team captained by Gill had scored a mountain-like score of 231 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in this match.
After the dismissal of Gill and Sudarshan, GT's batsmen could not add more runs and due to this the score which at one time seemed to be 250, stopped at 231. On the other hand, for CSK, fast bowler Tushar Deshpande was the only bowler to get a wicket. While bowling 4 overs, he gave away 33 runs and showed the way to the pavilion to 2 batsmen. It was he who stopped GT from scoring any more runs by dismissing both the openers.
Chasing the target of 232 runs, the team captained by Rituraj Gaikwad had a very bad start and they lost 3 wickets for 10 runs.
