Parthiv Patel’s statement on Glenn Maxwell’s IPL career hasn’t gone well with the former Aussie player. Patel had called Maxwell the most overrated player in the history of the Indian Premier League. The Ex-India player had reacted after the Big Show failed to play even one good innings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 17th season of the tournament.
Maxwell was dropped from the Playing XI and he even took a break due to mental health issues in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league.
Callum Ferguson, who represented Australia, slammed Patel for his words. He called the statement unnecessary.
“The statement was not needed. Parthiv Patel’s words were unnecessary. Maxwell is not the most overrated player in IPL history. He has been impressive in the league.
If you talk about Brendon McCullum and Rohit Sharma’s IPL careers, they batted like Maxwell. Glenn goes for big shots and his brand of cricket is the reason why he averages around 25 in the Indian Premier League. However, he has a good strike rate and has won matches for his teams,” he said on ESPN Australia.
In 8 matches, Maxwell has scored 36 runs at an average of 5.14 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
