IND W vs AUS W: Smriti Mandhana- Harmanpreet's fifty was useless, India lost in the first ODI against Australia

Australia Women beat India Women: Australia women's cricket team defeated India by 6 wickets in the first ODI. In the match played in Brisbane, India had set a target of scoring 215 runs in 50 overs to win against Australia on the basis of half-centuries by Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur.

The host team achieved this target given by Indian women with 70 balls remaining by losing 4 wickets.

India had a bad start

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss in the match and decided to bat first. But India's start was not good. Even as runs were not added on the score board, opener Pratika Raval had to return to the pavilion without opening her account. After that, by the time it reached 25 runs, the team also lost the wicket of Shefali Verma. The team's score had just crossed the threshold of 50 when Australia also dismissed Jemimah Rodriguez.

India suffered these three big blows at the score of 52 runs in 11.2 overs.

Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet's innings went in vain

Amidst the wickets falling from one end, Smriti Mandhana, however, was standing at the other end. He hit some great shots. Smriti got good support from captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who came in the middle order. Both of them tried to form a partnership. Meanwhile, Smriti completed her half-century. But she could not make her score any bigger.

India got the fourth blow on the score of 100 runs in the form of Smriti Mandhana, who scored 58 runs in 68 balls with the help of 7 fours.

After her dismissal, Harmanpreet tried well to take the Indian score board forward but she did not get much support from Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh. The result was that the Indian team could not play even 50 overs and could not even score a big score.

The entire Indian team was all out after scoring 214 runs in 48.3 overs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur's contribution in this was 53 runs on 84 balls.

India's defeat, Australia leads the series

Australia women's cricket team got the target of scoring 215 runs to win, which they chased by losing 4 wickets in just 38.2 overs.

While opening for Australia, its captain Alyssa Healy hit an amazing fifty. Apart from her, Beth Mooney played an inning of 76 runs. After winning the first ODI, Australia is ahead 1-0 in the 3-match series.
