Abhishek Sharma: In the last match of Super-8 against West Indies, Abhishek Sharma crossed the limit. Abhishek was being considered as the trump card of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2026. But in this tournament he has not yet lived up to that expectation. The situation was no different against the West Indies. Abhishek Sharma not only failed in batting in this match, apart from that he was seen dropping more in fielding than taking catches. The limit was reached when after all this happened, he appeared in the dug out as if nothing had happened.

Abhishek Sharma did not even play with a strike rate of 100

West Indies set a target of 196 runs for India, to chase which Abhishek Sharma, who came at the opening, hardly touched the double figure. Difficult to say because he had to face 11 balls against West Indies to score the 10 runs which he usually scored in 2-4 balls. Meaning, Abhishek Sharma's strike rate was not even 100 in the Super-8 match against West Indies.

Catch after catch left in fielding

This is the story of Abhishek's failure in batting. Earlier, his fielding in the Super-8 match of T20 World Cup 2026 against West Indies was also similarly ineffective.

There were opportunities for him to take two catches in the match. But he spilled both of them.

Abhishek Sharma took the first catch of Roston Chase off Bumrah's ball in the 5th over of the powerplay, when he was playing on 14 runs. The second catch he took was of Rovman Powell on the ball of Arshdeep Singh in the 19th over. These two mistakes by Abhishek played a big role in West Indies reaching the score of 195 runs.

Fun in the dugout after failure

Well, after so much happening on the field, after seeing what he does in the dugout, you will say that this is too much.

Abhishek Sharma was seen having fun in the dugout, unconcerned about what happened on the field.
