Delhi: On Friday, Ireland defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the first match of the 3-match T20 International series played at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin. The Irish team defeated Pakistan for the first time in T20I. The hosts achieved the target of 183 runs given by the green jersey team by losing 5 wickets in the last over and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Even though the visiting team had to face defeat, captain and veteran batsman Babar Azam equaled a big record of India's great batsman Virat Kohli in T20 International. He equaled Kohli in terms of most fifty plus scores in the shortest format of cricket.

Pakistan captain scored a half-century in the first T20 match against Ireland. This is his 38th fifty plus score in his 108th T20I innings, while Kohli has scored 38 fifty plus scores in 109 T20 International innings. Virat has converted only one of his 38 half-centuries into a century, while Azam has taken his fifty to three-figure scores thrice.

Babar Azam became the fourth player in this case

Apart from this, the right-handed batsman also completed a century of more than fifty in T20. He is the fourth player to score 100 fifty plus scores in T20. Before him, Australia's legendary opener David Warner and West Indies' explosive opener Chris Gayle have scored 110 and 110 fifty-plus scores respectively, while Kohli has scored more than 50 105 times.

Chris Gayle converted 22 half-centuries into centuries in T20, Babar Azam converted scores of more than fifty into three figures 11 times, while Virat Kohli was successful in converting fifties into centuries 9 times and David Warner 8 times.
