The British High Commission in India has jumped in on the excitement ahead of the highly anticipated semi-final clash of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 between India and England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 05.

The High Commission, located in New Delhi, put out a video on their social media platform celebrating the love of cricket in both countries. The video shows both sections of fans enjoying the game from the stands, showing how much the sport means to the two countries. 

“Cricket isn’t just a game, it’s a feeling.

Ahead of the much awaited T20 World Cup semi-final between England and India, we’re celebrating our shared love for the game and the fans that bring this sport to life. May the best team win!” said the British High Commission in India on their official 'X' account.

The two teams will be crossing swords against each other in a T20 World Cup semi-final for the third consecutive time.

The Three Lions secured an emphatic 10-wicket win on their way to lifting the title in 2022, whilst the Men in Blue got their revenge in 2024, beating Jos Buttler & Co. by 68 runs before eventually lifting the title after a 17-year-long wait.

The winner of this semi-final will face New Zealand in the final on Sunday, March 8, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Kiwis secured a nine-wicket victory over South Africa in their semi-final game at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, March 4. Mitchell Santner’s men chased down the 170-run target in just 12.5 overs thanks to Finn Allen’s outstanding unbeaten century off just 33 balls. 

For the unversed, England and India will see each other a lot more often in T20Is this year. The Men in Blue are poised to travel to the United Kingdom for a white-ball tour where they will play the hosts in five T20Is and three ODIs, commencing from July 1.
