Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have done well in the Indian Premier League 2024. KKR have seen the rise of the uncapped Indian players in the 17th season. Harshit Rana has been one of the reasons behind the Shreyas Iyer-led franchise’s dominance.
Former India player Aakash Chopra lauded the pacer for his magnificent display in the tournament.
In 9 matches, he has picked up 14 wickets. Chopra compared him with Jasprit Bumrah. “Jasprit Bumrah has a good slower one and this season I have been impressed by Harshit Rana’s slower one. He has made good used of his stock delivery,” Aakash Chopra said on JioCinema.
Chopra also condemned the match referee for sanctioning Harshit for his flying kiss gesture. “He was fined and banned for one match for spreading love. You can’t penalize a player for giving a flying kiss to a rival player,” Aakash added.
Chopra also defended Rana for bowling a full toss to Virat Kohli.
“He was criticised for bowling a full toss at the Eden Gardens. It was not his fault as the height of the ball is measured from the crease,” he concluded.
