Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t been consistent for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2024. He has accumulated good scores in few matches while failing to get going in important games. In the previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Yadav accumulated 11 runs off 14 balls as Mumbai Indians lost the game by 18 runs. His slow innings surprised many, considering he regularly hits fours and sixes.

Analysing the batters’ technique, Rayudu said that bowlers can contain SKY by bowling wide outside the off stump and forcing him to target the longer boundary.

Rayudu said that Suryakumar needs to work on his weakness. “Team are coming up with a proper plan against Suryakumar Yadav. They bowl slow and wide outside the off stump. We saw this in the World Cup as well. When the pitch is slow with a bigger boundary on one side, teams have a plan against him. He needs to work on that,” Ambati Rayudu said on Star Sports.

SKY have scored 345 runs from 10 games at an average of 38.33 and a strike rate of 169.95.

Rayudu said that MI were let down by their batters against KKR. Chasing 158 in a 16-over match, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan added 65 runs for the opening wicket but there was no meaningful partnerships after that.

MI will be playing their last game of the 17th season against LSG on Friday, May 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
