Lucknow: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) kept their playoff hopes alive by winning by 5 wickets in the match played against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Chepauk. In this match, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson had won the toss and decided to bat first, but his decision was proved wrong by the Chennai bowlers. Young fast bowler Simarjeet Singh was the hero with the ball for CSK in this match, who played an important role in the victory by taking 3 wickets while conceding 26 runs in 4 overs. Batting first in this match, RR scored 141 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 142 runs, Chennai won the match by 5 wickets in 18.2 overs. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad played a settled innings in this match and remained unbeaten after scoring 42 runs on 41 balls. Apart from him, the Yellow Army achieved this target on the basis of small innings of other players. With this victory, the team captained by Rituraj has reached third place in the points table and has kept their playoff hopes alive. So currently RR is at second position in the points table.
In this match, young batsman Riyan Parag played an excellent innings for Rajasthan and was the best scorer for his team. Facing 35 balls, he played an unbeaten inning of 47 runs with the help of one four and 3 sixes and it was the result of his inning that RR could reach the score of 141. Apart from him, Dhruv Jurel also played a good innings and scored 28 runs in 18 balls. For Chennai, star pacer Tushar Deshpande took 2 wickets while giving 30 runs in 4 overs.
If we talk about the bowlers of Rajasthan, then experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin bowled excellently and took 2 wickets while giving 35 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also played brilliantly and during his bowling of 4 overs, he gave away 22 runs and sent one batsman to the pavilion. So after this victory, if Gaikwad and company win their next match then they will qualify for the playoffs.
