Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was unhappy with the 3rd umpire decision during the CSK vs RR match as he was declared out for obstructing the field. The incident happened in the 16th over of the CSK chase when Ruturaj Gaikwad and Jadeja tried to take a double. The all-rounder had almost reached the striker’s end when he was asked to go back by his skipper.

Sanju Samson threw the ball towards the stumps which hit Jadeja on the hand. Samson appealed for obstructing the field and the on-field umpires took the help of TV umpire. The replays showed Jadeja looking at Samson and then changing the direction to cover the stumps to avoid getting run-out. The third umpire was sure that Ravindra Jadeja intentionally changed the direction and the batter was given his matching orders. The southpaw refused to accept the decision but had no choice but to go back.

The all-rounder spoke with the umpires before heading to the dugout. He also said something to RR players as well.

The wicket of Jadeja didn’t prove costly as Chennai won the game by 5 wickets. The Royals were restricted to 141 runs in their 20 overs. Simranjeet picked up 3 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs. Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell added important runs in the chase. Ruturaj Gaikwad maintained his composure and got the five-time champions home with 10 balls remaining. Ruturaj was unbeaten on 42 off 41 balls. CSK will next face RCB at the Chinnaswamy stadium on May 18.
