Chennai Super Kings played their last league match against Rajasthan Royals in Chepauk. The defending champions will have to make it to the final to play another game in Chennai. MS Dhoni, who is the most famous and trusted player of CSK, was again welcomed by fans as several thought that this could be his last contest at home.
Dhoni is active in the cash-rich league since 2008, and barring two seasons, he has led the franchise till 2023. Chennai were banned from the league for two years due to the owner’s involvement in betting.
MSD played for Rising Pune Supergiant for two seasons before returning to the champion team affet the ban period was completed.
Suresh Raina, who was with the Men in Yellow for several years, is close to former CSK skipper. During the CSK vs RR match, Abhinav Mukund, the former India player, spoke to Raina about Mahi’s future.
“Is this MS Dhoni’s last game in Chepauk?”he asked.
“Definitely not,” Suresh Raina said.a
Dhoni is battling muscle tear, which has limited his game time in the ongoing season. He left the captaincy before the start of the new edition and gave the captain’s armband to Ruturaj Gaikwad.
