After making Team India T20 World Champion for the second consecutive time, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will now return to the IPL. Bumrah and Mumbai Indians fans are eager to see him on the field again. 5-time champion Mumbai, which has been waiting for the title for the last 5 years, is in great need of its star pacer.
But even before the start of the season, Bumrah has increased everyone's tension. According to a report, Jasprit Bumrah suddenly reached BCCI's Center of Excellence in Bengaluru just before the start of the tournament. The Times of India report claims that the star pacer Jasprit Bumrah CoE has suddenly arrived about a week before the start of IPL 2026. This has raised the question whether Bumrah has got injured again. Will Mumbai Indians have to start the season without Bumrah? This question is arising because generally Indian players go to CoE only in case of fitness problem.
Questions are being raised about Bumrah's fitness because while all the players of Mumbai Indians are busy in preparations, Bumrah has not joined the team even once yet. All the Indian and foreign players of Mumbai Indians, including Bumrah, who took part in the T20 World Cup, were given additional break, which was announced by coach Mahela Jayawardene himself. But while captain Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma have joined the team, Bumrah is not a part of it at present.
32 year old veteran fast bowler Bumrah has been struggling with fitness problems in the past also.
Due to this, he was not able to participate in IPL 2023, whereas before that he was not a part of the team in T20 World Cup 2022 also. Apart from this, he also got injured during the Test series on England tour last year and was out for a few weeks. In such a situation, his sudden arrival at BCCI center is raising questions. Let us tell you that Mumbai has to play its first match against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29.
