Australian and Delhi Capitals Mitchell Starc has hit at a few Indian media houses for spreading misinformation about his injury as the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) prepares for its start. The left-arm speedster has assured the Delhi Capitals fans that he is committed to joining the franchise after recovering from his elbow and shoulder injury.
Starc, who skipped IPL for 10 years, returned to the cash-rich league ahead of the 2024 edition and fetched a massive amount of ₹24.75 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
He had played a pivotal role in the Knight Riders’ third title victory that year, earning Player of the Match awards in the Qualifier 1 and final. But the Knight Riders surprisingly released him from the squad, prompting the Capitals to shell out ₹11.75 to secure Starc’s services. The New South Welshman had finished the 2025 edition with 14 scalps in 11 games at 26.14 but the Capitals failed to reach the playoffs; however, he was retained.While taking to Instagram, he uploaded a story, writing:
