LSG vs DC: Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler Mohammed Shami on Wednesday (April 1) Delhi Capitals Made a special record in bowling in the IPL 2026 match against IPL at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. He took 1 wicket for 28 runs in his quota of four overs.
Shami gave the first blow to the Delhi team chasing the target in the form of KL Rahul (0) on the very first ball of the innings. While trying to play a big shot, Rahul was caught by Mohsin Khan at third man.
Shami has become the first bowler to dismiss KL Rahul for a golden duck twice in the IPL.
Earlier, he had achieved this feat in the 2022 IPL. At that time, while playing for Gujarat Titans, he dismissed Lucknow captain KL Rahul on the first ball of the innings.Apart from this, this is the fifth time that Shami has taken a wicket on the first ball of the innings. Before him, Trent Boult, Umesh Yadav, Lasith Malinga, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Praveen Kumar, Ashok Dinda and Pat Cummins have achieved this feat 3 times each.
Shami has come jointly at sixth place in terms of taking most wickets in the first over in IPL. This was Shami’s 11th wicket in the first over in the history of this tournament and he took the wickets of Lasith Malinga, Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj Equaled.
