Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Mukul Choudhary opened up about the absence of pacer Mayank Yadav from the playing XI in their season opener against Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 1. Mukul revealed that Mayank is completely fit, and now it is in the hands of the management and the captain how they use him.
Speaking after their season opener match, Mukul said, “He is fit. The rest is team management and the captain and how they are planning to use him.”

Mayank began his IPL journey on a strong note by winning Player of the Match awards in his first two games for LSG, where he impressed everyone with his speed. His performances also sparked talk of an India call-up. However, his injuries over the past two years have been a major issue, as he last played an IPL game in May 2025. In six matches, he picked up nine wickets at an economy rate of 9.17.

Mukul also spoke about his own role as a finisher this season and the support he has received from captain Rishabh Pant and the team management. “Yes, when we had pre-season camp in Chennai, we spoke. However, it was not a good outing for Mukul and the whole LSG team as they got bundled out for 141 against DC, with Mukul scoring only 14 off 11. DC chased down the target with 17 balls to spare and six wickets in hand.
