Rishabh Pant Steers Lucknow to Gritty 5-Wicket Victory Against Hyderabad

A solid knock from Rishabh Pant has set up Lucknow Super Giants’ 5-wicket victory against SRH, played on April 05 at Hyderabad.

His 68* runs off 50 deliveries, which includes 9 fours, has sealed a win for Lucknow in away games.

They secured their first win of the IPL 2026 campaign and made a significant move in the IPL 2026 points table.

After being invited to bat first, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opened the innings while Mohammed Shami opened the bowling attack.

Shami picked the wicket of Abhishek Sharma for a duck in the first over and bagged the wicket of Travis Head for 7 runs in the 3rd over.

On the other hand, Prince Yadav went to pick the wicket of Ishan Kishan for 1 run.

By the end of powerplay, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored only 22 runs in the powerplay. Liam Livingstone who came to bat at no. 4 got dismissed by Digvesh Rathi for 14 runs.

With his dismissal, SRH lost four wickets for 26 runs. However, Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy forged a 116-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

Heinrich Klaasen who scored 62 runs off 41 deliveries, got dismissed by Avesh Khan while Nitish Reddy got dismissed by Manimaran Siddharth for 56 runs.

Avesh Khan and Prince Yadav picked their second wicket dismissing Harsh Dubey and Shivang Kumar respectively. By the end of 20 overs, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 156 runs losing 9 wickets.

Mohammed Shami, Prince Yadav and Avesh Khan bagged two wickets each while Digvesh Singh Rathi and Manimaran Siddharth completed their spell with a wicket tally.

Chasing 157 run target, Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings while Harsh Dubey opened the bowling attack.

Eshan Malinga brought the first wicket dismissing Mitchell Marsh for 14 runs. With Aiden Markram and Rishabh Pant at crease, Lucknow Super Giants scored 53 runs in the powerplay.

Shvang Kumar brought the second wicket dismissing Markram for 45 runs which included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Ayush Badoni who came to bat at no.4 scored only 12 runs before being dismissed by Harsh Dubey on the 13th over.

Nicholas Pooran who came to bat, was sent back to dug out after his dismissal on a runout. Abdul Samad scored 16 runs before being dismissed by Harsh Dubey.

Rishabh Pant completed the chase with 68* runs in the fifth ball of the final over. Harsh Dubey picked two wickets while Eshan Malinga and Shivang Kumar picked one wicket each.
