Many reasons have emerged behind the team’s poor start.

The continuous flop of the top order is a big problem, but the absence of former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has had an even greater impact. The 44-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman missed the first three matches of the season as he was recovering from a calf strain.

Dhoni will miss more matches
Fans were hopeful that Dhoni would return to the field soon, but now disappointing news has come for them. According to the report, Dhoni will not be able to play in the match against Delhi Capitals on April 11. This match is to be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Dhoni is rehabbing
It has been said in the report that Dhoni is currently going through the rehabilitation process and it will take at least one more week for him to become completely fit. In such a situation, his return is now expected to be in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 18th April.

Meanwhile, the team has suffered another setback. South Africa’s young batsman Dewald Brevis is also struggling with injury. However, franchise CEO Kashi Vishwanathan has given relief news. He said, Dhoni is currently in rehab, it will take time and right now it is difficult to say when he will be completely fit.

But Brevis’ condition is improving and we hope he can be available for the next match.”

Team head coach Stephen Fleming also gave an update on Brewis’ fitness. He said that the team has taken precautions and if everything goes as per plan in the next few days, Brevis can play in the match against Delhi.

Overall, Chennai Super Kings is going through a difficult phase at the moment. Consecutive defeats, injuries to key players and lack of balance have become big challenges for the team. Now everyone’s eyes are on whether Dhoni’s return will be able to handle the team or not.
