Lucknow Super Giants had a target of 182 runs in the match. At one point the score was 128/7 and victory seemed almost impossible. But Mukul Chaudhary present at the crease had come thinking something else. Only the lower order batsmen were left with him, and the experienced bowlers of Kolkata Knight Riders were left in front.
Mukul Chaudhary led Lucknow to victory
The beginning was not easy for Mukul. He scored only 2 runs in the first 8 balls. But what happened next changed the course of the match. Mukul hit 7 sixes in the next four overs. His unbeaten inning of 54 runs in 27 balls gave Lucknow an impossible victory.
I wanted to take the match till the end: Mukul
The most special thing about Mukul’s batting was his confidence. He said after the match, ‘I want to take the game till the end. I was confident that if I held on, I could win the match. This confidence was visible in his every shot.
A helicopter shot like Dhoni led to victory
A glimpse of Mahendra Singh Dhoni was clearly visible in Mukul’s batting. Especially the helicopter shot and the style of ending the match in the last over. Mukul himself is a big fan of Dhoni. He told that he always wanted to become a finisher like Dhoni and inspired by him, he also started wicketkeeping.
Dhoni’s imprint is visible in batting
Lucknow needed 14 runs in the last over. The pressure was at its peak, but Mukul remained calm. He said, ‘I knew that the bowler could bowl one or two good balls, but in the end there would definitely be a chance and I was waiting for that.’ And the same thing happened, a ball was received in the last over and Mukul converted it into a six.
Parents left jobs to make him a cricketer
Along with the hard work of Mukul, there is a big contribution of his family behind this success. His father Dalip left his job and even sold his house to make his son a cricketer. Mother Sunita also left her job for her son and supported him at every step.
Born in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, Mukul also saw struggles in domestic cricket. His performance was not special in the beginning, but in the 2025-26 season, he caught everyone’s attention by scoring 617 runs. After this, he also performed brilliantly in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and then got entry in the IPL.
Lucknow coach Justin Langer has already said that Mukul has the potential to become India’s most dangerous finisher. Right now, this young player has shown from his first big innings that he is a long race horse.
